Cédric Hanriot
Cédric Hanriot proposes with his trio music open to the confluence of jazz, rap and hip hop. Between acoustic instruments (piano, double bass, drums) and electronic textures, the music of this trio has an almost cinematic dimension. In addition to Hanriot’s original compositions, in which groove and interaction are the main focus, the band playfully explores famous international themes taken from the pop of Katy Perry, the rock of Nirvana or the electronic music of Massive Attack. The addition of Chicago rapper Samuel Nash aka DAYS brings an even more rap and hip hop color to the project which promises to be very exciting!
The beginnings of Hanriot’s trio date back to 2009 when he revisited a number of French popular songs on his highly acclaimed debut album “French Stories” with Terri Lyne Carrington and John Patitucci. 11 years and numerous concerts all over the world later, a new repertoire and line-up promise to follow up on the earlier success. A new album, produced by Charles Burchell (Omar Sosa, Braxton Cook) and featuring Days, Braxton Cook and Jason Palmer will be released on 9 September 2022.
Cédric Hanriot is a French pianist, composer and music producer. A graduate from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, he worked in 2015 on 8 songs of the Grammy Award winning album “Beautiful Life” by the American singer Dianne Reeves. Over the past 15 years, he had the pleasure to collaborate with many internationally renowned jazz artists such as Herbie Hancock, Gregory Porter, Esperanza Spalding or Donny McCaslin. Having played as sideman and leader on various tours throughout the world, he has been able to sharpen his unique style incorporating acoustic as well as electronic elements.

Cédric is a formidable force in new jazz, he’s one of the most expressive pianists I have ever worked with. I’m always impressed by what he has to offer.
Terri Lyne Carrington
Cédric Hanriot dares to test the lively alchemy of composite jazz and a decidedly urban flavor. A powerful and tonic music which is graciously charming.
