Michel Meis

Luxembourg drummer and composer Michel Meis has a bachelor in jazz drums of the University for Music Saar in Saarbrücken and a master in jazz drums at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Mannheim.
He regularly proves his versatility and openness through numerous, genre-spanning projects. Besides his own projects, the Michel Meis 4tet (jazz) and the duo BLANKX with pianist Manuel Krass (free jazz/electronic music), he currently plays with the Gilles Grethen Quartet (jazz), Venerem (art music), and Everwaiting Serenade (melodic hardcore), among others.
In 2021, he was chosen by the American drummer Jim Black to represent Luxembourg at Criss Cross Europe, a European project aimed at promoting exchanges between young musicians under the mentorship of an internationally established musician.
